There are many businesses you can start with $1000 or less that can make you 10K a month or more. We sometimes try to convince ourselves that we aren’t ready or maybe don’t have enough time, money or even have the skills to start that business that you have been thinking about starting.
Let’s be honest, if you haven’t started and are telling yourself these things, then more than likely these are excuses. Each one of you have the ability to start a business and see it through. The truth is that some of you will give it your all and achieve or even exceed the goals you have set for yourself. But then there are those who will never even start or put forth the effort to turn your vision into a reality.

Can I start a business with $1000 or less?
There are a lot of different businesses that you can start with $1000 or less. I’ll cover 7 that I believe could make you 10K a month or more if you take them seriously. A couple I have personally done myself and I’ll talk about them in the video and what happened with those and how much I made
No matter your age, it’s never too late or early to start your business.
If none of the 7 business ideas we touch on resonates with you personally, at least we hope that you are inspired to start or that it gets you thinking on what business you may want to start.
Each one of these businesses can be started with very little money into it and I wanted to start with one that I’ve seen grow from nothing into multiple brick and mortar locations.
And the first of the many businesses you can start is…
Ghost Kitchen
If you haven’t heard of this term its “a business, operating from low-rent or noncommercial premises, that prepares food ordered online for delivery directly to customers.”
So this ghost kitchen, is more like YO kitchen, at the house. And not haunted at all. Hopefully
There’s a lady that lives about 10 mins from where we stay that started her ghost kitchen business, she sold these amazing cookies from her home. Customers would order online and she would bake these in her house and hand deliver them within a certain radius of where she lived.
These cookies are really good! Well she did this from their home for a year or so and outgrew it and had to expand to a brick-and-mortar location.
So she bootstrapped this small startup from her home.
This business was started for less than $1000. She had a website, posted on her local Facebook group and was consistent in operating this startup year-round.
Her business is now making multiple 6 or 7 figures and she is not only creating a brand, but she may expand. This could even be a sellable business or a future franchise.
Here’s what you need to start this business:
- A website
- Computer and internet connection
- The ingredients for whatever your making
- Maybe the packaging for what you place the food in
Next business you can start is one I’ve tried and that’s getting your…
Realtors License
I’m still actively licensed and use my license to save on commissions and have access to MLS for any real estate deals I actively do.
But the cost of getting my real estate license was close to $1000. On my first listing that I remember doing, I made about 16K on the first sale acting as a listing agent. Getting your license will allow you to work with both buyers and sellers and make money every time a property is bought or sold.
This will increase your ability to earn more by a lot. The $1000 was used to take the online course and the exam. My first deal was 16K, that is well worth it, and a huge return on my initial investment off only one real estate transaction.
Let’s say the average home price is 300K and you make about 3% commission on each transaction. This doesn’t include whatever split you have set up with your sponsoring broker.
That is a 9K commission on one transaction. Imagine doing one a month. Making 6 figures a year as a realtor is very possible as long as you’re willing to put in the work, get yourself out there and network and market yourself.
It’s overall a smart way to start your business and get familiar with real estate and you can even transition into a real estate investor after increasing your ability to earn more.

Next, we have a side hustle turned business that I started in 2018, that anyone can do, and needs very little capital and that’s becoming a reseller…
Reseller
I’ve made many videos where I talk about how I turned $800 into 420K in one year. It started as a way to make money fast because my wife was pregnant with our second daughter and I was broke, so I needed to find a way to make money right away.
I started selling stuff around the house, took the $800 I made from that and turned it into $1600. How? From buying things from anywhere and everywhere for less and selling it for more than what I bought it for.
It was exactly like what you would see in Gary Vees trash talk videos, hustling and scaling to where all my money was tied up in the inventory I had listed. Once I ran out of capital I went and got a loan for 47.5K and bought even more stuff to sell online.
At the end of the year I had grossed close to 485K but PayPal won’t let me go that far back but the farthest it went back was the following year that shows 420K. And I’ll throw up that screen shot as well.

Basically start with anything you have around the house that you want to sell that can make you some initial startup capital. Then start getting down and dirty by going to thrift stores, garage sales, buy pallets, go to auctions or anywhere you feel you can haggle a good deal.
Here’s what you need to start this business:

Trade skill
So the $1000 can be used to become certified or get the education to learn a trade skill and be able to apply it. You could get this at a local or online college, technical school or through specialized training.
So this can be electricians, plumbers, technicians, painters, or any trade skill that can allow you to make more money.
Each trade skill has a different cost to learn that skill, but similar to the realtor’s license, once you have that skill you can go out and start a business in that field.
Here’s what you need to start this business:
- Certification, license, or education for that skill
- Computer and internet connection
- A website
- Some form of marketing to get in front of your customers.
I wanted to include this because I have been using VAs in my business for years now. If you’re looking for a stay at home remote working experience that allows you to start making money fast with little expense, this may be something you can look into.
This is you working for yourself. Depending on what skill you can bring to the marketplace and how much experience, reviews and returning clients you have, will transfer in how much you can make.
I know VA’s that started with just them and later built a team of other VA’s working for them to take on the load of all the work coming in.
Here’s what you need to start this business:
- Computer and internet connection
- An account with Upwork or Fiverr
- If you want to go the extra mile. Then you can get a website and try to get customers directly.
This business model means you would identify the target market, I’m sure in a close radius of where you would be operating. And you can provide a wash and fold service, where you pick up the clothes, wash and fold them and return them neatly stacked.
I can tell you from personal experience that I need this service. I have like 5 baskets of unfolded clothes that need following at all times.
You can create a serious business if you dominate your local market. This can be bootstrapped for less than $1000 assuming you already have transportation.
I looked into some of the companies, and they price it at around $2 a pound. I weighed one of my baskets of clothes and it was almost 45lbs. So this can be very lucrative, especially if you have returning customers.
We hear a lot about mobile car detailing but not so much about mobile laundry businesses.
There are people that just don’t have time to deal with washing and folding clothes and your service can help them out a lot.
Your overhead is low because you can utilize local washaterias to wash and dry the clothes.
Here’s what you need to start this business:
- A website
- A computer and internet connection
- Transportation
- Local washing and drying facility
This is the same as a regular notary, but you would be a traveling notary. A mobile notary is a notary public who is commissioned by the state to perform notarizations on documents. On average notaries make about $75 to $200 per document.
So instead of your clients having to go to an office to sign, you can go to them. This is more of a premium service because you are providing them with a convenient way to sign, and in turn be able to charge more.
The requirements to become a mobile notary, are different in every state but here are some general guidelines:
- 18 Years or older
- No criminal record
- Complete a notary education course.
- Pass the exam.
- Apply for a surety bond.
- Purchase errors and omissions insurance
All of this can be done for under $1000 and Here’s what you need to start this business:
- A website
- A computer and internet connection
- Transportation
- Complete your education course and pass the exam.
